Responsible Procurement Activities

Basic Approach

Our Group aims to resolve social issues by conducting corporate activities that balance social and economic value. We place great importance on dialogue with all stakeholders and pursue the realization of a sustainable society. In particular, we value trust-based relationships with our business partners, strive to build mutually beneficial relationships, and engage in responsible procurement together. To achieve these goals, we have established policies and guidelines and implement our procurement activities accordingly.

Supply Chain CSR Guidelines

To fulfill our corporate social responsibility, we disclose key implementation items of our management philosophy. These include CSR-related requirements such as respect for human rights, reduction of environmental impact, compliance adherence, and responsible mineral sourcing. Additionally, our procurement policy explicitly states the stabilization and optimization of quality, cost, and delivery (QCD).In line with these policies, we have established the Supply Chain CSR Guidelines and request our business partners to understand and comply with the fundamental policy items.

CSR Promotion and Code of Conduct

Our company promotes CSR activities in accordance with the JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) "Guidelines for Responsible Corporate Behavior" and the WFSGI (World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry) "Code of Conduct," focusing on the following 10 items. We also require our business partners to adhere to these standards.
Furthermore, we require the establishment of management systems covering supplier management, import/export control, grievance mechanisms, and information disclosure.

Partnership Building Declaration

In March 2024, we announced the "Partnership Building Declaration."
The Partnership Building Declaration aims to build new partnerships by promoting collaboration and mutual prosperity with our supply chain partners and businesses seeking to create value.

Responsible Mineral Sourcing

Minerals such as tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold, cobalt, natural mica, copper, natural graphite, lithium, and nickel mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries (DRC countries) and in Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs) raise concerns about funding armed groups and contributing to human rights abuses and labor issues, including child labor and forced labor. As part of fulfilling our social responsibility, our Group adheres to the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains. We are strengthening our procurement management with the principle of avoiding the use of such minerals.
We ask our suppliers to understand our Group's initiatives and cooperate in investigations for responsible mineral sourcing. We are working on responsible mineral sourcing throughout the entire supply chain, addressing not only conflict minerals but also issues such as human rights violations and environmental destruction, including risks covered by OECD Annex II *1.

Green Procurement

In order to reduce the environmental impact of our products, it is essential to procure parts, materials, and secondary materials that have a low environmental impact during the manufacturing process. We distribute our Green Procurement Guidelines, which outline our green procurement philosophy and requirements for our suppliers, and promote green procurement with their understanding and cooperation. We also regularly evaluate our suppliers' chemical substance management and environmental impact reduction initiatives, and provide guidance through improvement requests and on-site audits to suppliers with low evaluation results.
